Denver Broncos Now Favored to Win the Super Bowl

    According to The Denver Post

Las Vegas believes in the Broncos.

The latest odds have been posted, and the Broncos are now the favorite to win Super Bowl XLVII, according to vegasinsider.com.

Thanks to a 10-game winning streak in which they have outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 points, the Broncos are listed as 3-to-1 favorites to win it all Feb. 3 in Peyton Manning's hometown of New Orleans.

The New England Patriots have the next-best odds at 7-to-2 followed by San Francisco (5-1), Atlanta and Seattle (6-1), Houston (7-1), Green Bay (8-1) and Mike Shanahan's Washington Redskins (20-1).

I've said it from the time Peyton was signed in March. Peyton will win MVP, CPOY and SB MVP.....yep, we're goin all the way. They should just hand us the Lombardi and save all the other teams the humiliation! :-)

Seattle is hot so that favors them going into the playoffs. Not to mention they have a defense. Two things that concern me if I were a fan is there road play and Russel Wilson's first time in the playoffs. Seattle has always been a poor road team and great home team, so will see which prevails, the hot streak they are on or the road woes. If they made it to the Superbowl I think we can take them. Our defense should do fine against them, and I think our offense can do more than their offense even though they have a tough defense as well.

    Sounds great...

But remember the vegas odds are always set to entice bettors. They *usually* are indicative of where each teams stand relative to each other, but dont necessarily point to the best teams.

I had 5 in my wallet the day I heard Manning signed and put it on the Broncos to win it all immediately, before the odds changed... Might not seem like much but if we win it'll turn into enough to cover my celebrations for sure.

What were those odds? I remember when Tebow was still here and Manning was not even a possibility the odds were insane.

I know you are just saying a hypothetical, but just so you know-

Most Vegas sportsbooks took the Broncos off the board for future odds during the manning sweepstakes, along with the Niners, Cardinals, Dolphins and Titans. If you looked around enough you might have been able to find a casino with them available, but most wouldn't have them on the board.

They do the same things with major injuries. For example last week, when RG3 was doubtful all week they took the Skins-Browns game off the board.

I can't remember exactly, but I think that 5 will turn into something like 150 should we win the big game.

I don't care about odds. When you are the 2nd seed, and possibly the 1st seed, with a 12-3 record, 10 game winning streak, stacked D, HOF QB, and good run game, you better win the SB.

This could be our last chance to win one for a long time. In the NFL your future is never certain, so strike while the iron is hot.

They are looking like the best team in football, that's why. No team has been more consistent, period. Some teams are flashing brilliance at times (and a few fans get inexplicably frightened for whatever reason), but then laying big fat eggs. The Broncos are just executing, with a few very minor mistakes, and then pummeling opponents by 2-3 scores without breaking much of a sweat.

The pundits have tried to suppress their status as elite Super Bowl contenders, but the wins speak for themselves.
