    Playoff Seeding and stuffs

Gonna use this thread to do my random games back grumblings

But first heres an interesting standings chart!

The grizz are ahead of the clipps even though they are .5 games back of the clippers.... i love that!

ok so we're 2 games back of the 3 seed and 1.5 games back of the 4 seed, and we've played 3 more games than memphis... and guess who we're playing this week? memphis. At home. And they'll be on the third night of a 4 game road trip... against the blazer, clipps, nuggs, jazz...

4 of the better home teams this season...

which means... realistically grizzlies will probably end up losing 3 of those 4 games. 2 if they're lucky.

so lets say they lose to the clipps, nuggs, and jazz and beat portland.

they will be 42-22 (our current record)

---we play the suns in phx, and then knicks and grizz at home... i'm assuming we win all 3 because we never lose at home and its the suns without one of their better players.

we would be 45-22, 1.5 games up on grizz.

now the clipps are 44-20, and they play pistons and grizz at home

they will be 46-20, 1.5 games up on nuggs

    the standings would be:

    3. clippers 46-20, 0 GB
    4. Nuggets 45-22, 1.5 GB
    5. Memphis 42-22, 3 GB

3 seed aint lookin all too good

but home court is within our grasp!

(57-25) or (56-26) depending on how we do on that second night of the b2b...

So basically kiss the 3 seed goodbye unless the clippers epicly choke... but expect a good shot at the 4 seed.

Lol I love my Nuggets but I'll be stunned if they win 15 of the last 18. I highly doubt they get to 57 wins. I'm not even sure they'll get to 55.

Also not very realistic that you say Jazz are on of the better home teams so they'll beat Memphis at home. But then you chalk it up to a win for us.

I love the enthusiasm but its a little homeristic.

I'll be more than happy to CP you if I'm wrong though.

well, they are playing the jazz on the 2nd night of a b2b.... and we play them after 4 full days of rest.

but yeah it does seem like a crapton of wins. I'm just going by what this team has been doing lately. we've gone 25-7 this calendar year.

    thats .781

and we've won 18 of our past 22... which is .818

winning 15/18 would be .833, but i also said we might go 14/18 in the projection so that would be .777

It's not that far-fetched, but we'll see how we do.

    Again, just a projection

I don't have a problem at all with you projecting us to catch either of them. I think it's a good chance even though neither seems to want to cut us any slack lately.

I just thought the win total was a bit wishful. For all three. I bet the 3 seed is won at 55 games.

West just gets better and better every year. Nuggets have been the 2 seed at 54 wins before. Now 55 may be only good enough for 4-5 seeds.

Meanwhile Heat have already clinched a playoff spot out East.

1 game plus percentage points. If we pull even they technically still hold the four seed with a better win percentage.

Same reason they were a half game behind clippers but held the three seed on Sunday.

yup but as long as we take care of home court, we'll have the tiebreaker (head to head). we've won 2 of the 3 meetings.

    Just some notes:

    Nuggets are:
    1-1 vs Spurs
    3-1 vs Thunder
    3-1 vs Grizz
    2-1 vs Clipps
    3-1 vs GS
    3-0 vs Rockets
    3-1 vs Lakers

My app shows us still in 5th. But appears we should be in 4th with that clippers loss.

So if we still have home court due to better record what's the point of guaranteeing a top 4 seed to division winners?

i think it guarantees they play a bottom 4 team... cause if they were to end up the 6 seed lets say, they'd be playin the 3 seed.

    not sure, just a guess.
