They could very well do that, a lot of tough games in the 2nd half for them.

I think the Chiefs finish 11-5, so no a loss at SD would not ruin our chances to win the division

But honestly I don't really care if we win the division or get a bye
As long as we get in the playoffs relatively healthy that is all I care about
