Official Game Day Thread: Week 11: 2013 Broncos vs Patriots

    Welcome Broncomaniacs,

There has been much hype of this 14th Matchup of Manning vs Brady. The 9-1 Broncos coming off a big win vs KC vs the 7-3 Pats coming off a loss to Carolina with a controversial no call at the end.

In their head to head match ups Brady is 9 -4 over Peyton, but Manning has won 4 of the last 7 match ups. Peyton's QB rating in those games 86.7 Brady's 95.3
Manning has thrown for more yards and TDs in those games, but more INTS as well.

Here we are already at week 11. In the previous decade we have a 4-6 record in our 11th game.
Of the 4 Wins 1 was at home, 3 were on the road. (two of them in the last 2 years)
Off the 6 losses 4 were at home - 2 on the road.

Last year we lost 31-21 - but we shot ourselves in the foot several times.
DT fumbled away the ball on the way to the end zone early on, Magahee cant make a 4th and one easy catch later in the game and he also fumbled in the red zone near the end. We knew they would score but we could not get the defensive stops or score like we needed to.

The Patriots and offense and defense are not the same this year, but Brady still has them in every game with a great chance to win. Sunday night will be no different.

Of course it isn't just Peyton out there, he has a team behind him. The Broncos and in 10 Career games vs Brady including the playoffs, his record 4 wins - 6 losses. He has beat Denver the last 3 times we have met. One more reason to dislike him.

All time the Broncos lead the series 25-18. 18 of the 43 game were played on the road where Denver is 9-9. In their last four games NE has scored 132 points - Denver has scored 133. Over that same time the Pats defense has given up 102 points, our Defense has given up 97 points. We are very evenly matched in that regard.

It will be cold and Manning doesn't do well in the cold. It will be a hostile stadium and the D will have there work cut out. Welker should be playing so that wil be a plus for us and a minus for NE. Brady has held his patchwork team together fairly well and their D still has some playmakers on it. The Broncos D I thought improved last week, if we can get pressure we have a good chance at this one.
I'd rather not give up first place in the division after just getting it from KC

Last 6 years the Pats are 23 of 26 after losses. Manning is 2-9 in Foxborough.

The stats are against us, so lets mess them up and WIN!

Cold temps as well. Below 40 degrees Manning is 7-9. 22YDs 21 INTS
Brady is 29-4 with 59 TD and 18 Int.

That is not a good sign. Better lean on the running game a bit more.

This reminds me of the Pats/Texans game last year when everyone was already crowning the Texans AFC champs and picked them to win the game. We ended up embarrassing them. Denver has a better offense then the Texans did but a worse defense. If our secondary was at full strength I could see a similar result to that game. But given the injuries it will be tough for us.

It's like you're already making excuses for when you lose. For the past 5 days you've literally repeated yourself 200 times about the same thing
