it was a matter of time the minute he was hired.

the davis family just can't get out of their own way.

Most respectable coaches will not even interview with them especially since they got rid of Gruden. since then all of the top coaches KNOW that they will not have the support or get the correct players to go into their scheme, so why bother going in there only to be fired in two or so years.

That team is going to take 4-5 years under a strong HC, that can hire his own position coaches and coordinators (again most of those guys are not going to go there because of the raider tradition of firing folks when the job is partial done.)

Then the team is rinse and repeat two or threes years, when they have to start over.

Until the team is put into a trust (taken a way form the davis group) that is what they will be the leper colony of the NFL.

Just as the cowboys, redskins and a couple of other teams will NEVER win consistently because their owners meddle in day to day operations.

I knew when he took the job that it was a mistake. The Raiders are where coaches go to end their career.

Dennis Allen rose quickly from defensive assistant with the Saints to Bronco DC to Raiders HC in just two years. I think the Raiders made a mistake in firing him. He will be back soon probably as a DC.

They are just going to keep recycling coaches for another decade. No coach worth anything wants to take that job. It has to be a has been or a never was coach. Such a shame for a once glorious organization. I actually remember when they were the gold standard for organizations.

they really did not have a bunch of otehr coaches beating down their doors at the time.

firing him in such a short time will not give QUALIFIED guys and warm and fizzy feelings about applying for the job in the off season.

Which means they will most likely be looking for another one in 3 years.

After they dumped Gruden one of the best coaches they had since Madden made them a pariah in the NFL coaching circles.. Only someone with a death wish would apply, that or a desperate one.

probably time to merger this with.

Report: Dennis Allen fired by Raiders, Broncos would welcome him back

Your got to be desperate if you go to the raiders, knew he wasn't going to last long, and thought it was a dumb move to go to the raiders.

to borrow the words of Dennis Green

"They are we we thought they were", they are the "raiders" of the NFL, and you never wanna be the "raiders" of the sport you play in.

The GM is the issue, not Allen

You can't just expect a first year coach to succeed without players, without a QB.

Carr, Schaub, Flynn.. what the hell are they doing over there...

no respectable HC is going to work there again.

they had many of them decline to be be interviewed. the last good one they had was Gruden and they traded him.( sorry they had another one after but can't remember his name and he got fired.)
Legit HC coaches are going to stay away from there unless they get a HUGE portion of voting stock.

the prime reasons that they hired a one year wonder DC.

They call it the black hole for a reason.

They are the raiders doing nothing different than they have been since Madden left.

The Raiders won two Super Bowls after John Madden retired from coaching: XV and XVIII coached by Tom Flores. They lost SB XXXVII.

hanks for correcting me, BUT not totally sure but Madden was still with the team just not a HC. But I could be wrong.

Also losing in a super bowl is really nothing to CROW about especially since they got their asses kicked by the HC they traded to an arm pit of a team.

and the other wins were so long ago most of those players could be dead at this point, certainly not ready for prime time.

I'll continue to believe they have done little as a team since Madden stepped down as HC.
