Hello Broncomaniacs one and all and all Pat fans who decided to pay us a visit this week.
Here we are almost 11 months removed from our last meeting with the Patriots in the AFC Championship game, for what the Media has hyped as Manning VS Brady XVI
So here we are again , Manning vs Brady, Denver vs New England. Good vs Evil. Another chapter in the Epic Rivalry.
How do we do in our 8th game of the season? Well over the last decade we went 5-5. Of the 5 wins 2 were at home 3 on the road. Of the 5 losses - 3 were home and 2 away. Or we went 2-3 at home and 3-2 away
Three times Brady and Manning have met in the AFC championship game, Brady won the first time. Manning came from behind to win the second and Manning and Denver pretty much had our way with them in January.
We know Brady has won 10 of his 15 matchups vs Manning, (Manning has won 4 of the last 7)
In fact six of the last eight meetings have been decided by a touch down or less. This game has the makings of the next Epic chapter.
John Fox is 2 for 7 vs the Patriots 1-2 in the post season.
Our offense is clicking you never know who will be the go to guy. In 2012 Demaryius Thomas had 180 yards against them.
IN 2011 in the Reg Season they crushed us at home
In 2012 We shout ourselves in the foot on the road, as we gave away the ball on multiple chances deep in New England territory.
In 2013 a Great 29 minutes was defeated by dumb penalties, mistake and an overtime gaffe of not getting away from the ball in time.
Somehow we seem to shoot ourselves int he foot when we play them. They are a good team, they are at home, they will get points and the refs will give them calls, let's not make it any harder then it needs to be.
Pats have went more uptempo no huddle as of late. Since the blowout loss vs KC they have come out on fire. This will be a different defense than what they saw when they last faced us. One that has 23 sacks through their first seven games. Decker is gone, Sanders is in, and Welker is not even a story line of late. Our run game has improved under Hilleman and Thompson is a nice big power back. Thomas and Thomas can easily dominate a game if needed to!
The Patriots have yet to give up 300 yards to a qb this season, even though the D has only have 7 turnovers (31st in the league) they are ranked # 2 over all against the pass giving up an avg of 211. This has help them extend their home winning streak to 13 games. In October Brady threw 14 TDs and 0 Ints. He is playing at top level form. Gronk ( 7 tds) will still be a handful for the D.
We know how a WIN will give us a nice advantage over the rest of the AFC in our quest for home field advantage.
Please follow the COC and report any posts that may be in violation of that. The Trolls are here folks, let's keep them in check, but don't sink down there level. Let the Mods try to enjoy this game as well
I hope we have a great game, play Broncos football and get the "W"
OMAHA OMAHA!!! GO DENVER! Let's give them a rare defeat in NE!
