He's playing despite his sickle cell anemia. What a stupid risk he's taking.

It didn't bother him before. I am sure he can make his own medical decisions with the help of a medical team. These players know the risks. If he was really at risk he wouldn't play. This is precisely why he only plays 75% of the time anyway.

Marvin has done a great job building this team and makes sure we have quality rotation guys as backups. Even AJM had a 118 QBR last week in his first start. And even the rookies play well once they finally get a chance.

Merry Christmas guys. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

And I'm sure thats what they thought going in with Ryan Clark and we saw how that turned out. Why is it even worth the risk? So much for player safety for the Bengals. I will pray for the young man that he doesn't end up like Clark did.

Ryan Clark had his spleen and gall bladder removed and never played in Denver again. He was inactive for the Steelers in Denver for games in 2009, '10, '11 and '12.

Different positions, Clark rarely came off the field for Pittsburgh. Atkins is rotated quite often, he also played 15 straight snaps last time he played in Denver. Unless we can control the clock and force their defense to stay on the field a long time I doubt it'll effect him.

Guys should also point out that you are comparing a Steeler to a Bengal. Of course the Steeler would need the surgery and take the games off. They are just weaker than Bengals. Bengal Bodies are just built tougher.

    geno atkins vs our o-line

i hope we have something or atkins could probably set a record for sacks by a DT in the game. atkins has returned to form as the top DT in the nfl. and terrifing presense in the center of the defense. so fast and quick he can't be block easy. our o-line has had massive struggles recently i am really scared to see them against Cinci and Atkins.

I just hope he makes it through without losing organs. Hopefully they will at best play him sparingly. For his sake.
