    Vasquez released

    Broncos released RG Louis Vasquez.

Vasquez was entering the final year of his four-year, $23.5 million pact. He started 18-of-19 games last season, but really struggled in coach Gary Kubiak's zone-blocking scheme, especially as a run blocker. Vasquez (6'5/335) is ideally built to be a power blocker. He's still just 29 (in April) and should find a healthy market. Vasquez can play either guard or right tackle in a pinch.

Maybe Elway can after all bump his offer to $51 mil. or something like that with more incentives to Brock now.

And end up with an over-hyped, under-performing QB like Andrew Luck? Hell no. Elway will be smart. He realizes it's a lot of speculation.

You had to go there, huh?

Well, if Brock makes the playoffs all of his first 3 years, and wins his division 2 out of his first 3 years of being a starter with a trip to the AFCCG all in his first 3 years despite getting beat up with his OL issues, I bet any GM or owner would take that in a heartbeat. Maybe not you.

The team may not be built with the right pieces with squandered opportunities/draft picks on Trent Richardson, Bjoern Werner and missed FA acquisitions like Laron Landry, Gosder Cherilus, Ricky Jean Francois etc. but how much of that is really Luck's fault?

Elway is much better than Grigson where he has hit fare more than missed in the draft and free agency, and if Luck gets paid north of $20 mil. per year, it is for what he has already done. So comparing Brock and Luck is not even in the same zip code. Unfortunately, the asking rates are a tad too high in the current market where there is not just a cap but also a minimum spending requirement which will lead to QBs being overpaid, whether you like it or not.

    $90m for 14 career sacks.
