Who was quarterback when you started to follow the Broncos?

I told someone 2 weeks ago who saw me in a Broncos t-shirt "no, I'm not a bandwagon fan, not because of Manning, not even because of Elway, when I started following them Charley Johnson was quarterback!", and it got me thinking a poll would be fun.

Who was under center when you started rooting for Denver?

Jay Cutler. Personally, I loved watching Shanahan's offense with Cutler and the other young talents. There was so much upside for that group before McDaniels destroyed everything. Too bad Shanahan could not put a defense together.

Craig came onboard in 1977, is that when you meant? This might affect your age!

Elway...though I had little idea who he was when I became a Bronco fan...I just knew he was some 2nd year hotshot kid from Stanford who had a cannon for an arm. It was the night of the infamous MNF Packer-Bronco blizzard back in 1984. I turned on the TV, saw the blizzard and said "that's it. The Broncos are my team". The actual reasons I became a Bronco fan were...

    1) They played outside on grass
    2) They played in the snow
    3) They wore bright colored jerseys

Little did I know what a crazy ride was in store for me beginning that night

I watched the end of Elway, but when I was old enough to see the ins and outs of the game Jake the Snake had the reigns.

I see a lot of similarities in Plummer/Shanahan's offense and Sanchez/Kubiak. It's really cool to see the Broncos playing the same style of ball as the good old days again.

    Craig Morton

I started watching the Broncos after we moved to Colorado in 1972. Really fell in love watching Haven Moses. Morton came along in '77. He was really the first quarterback that I remember. M & M connection! Great to beat the Raiders even though we lost in the SB.
