The Internet Sends Me Such Helpful/Caring Messages!!!

I am a lucky person indeed. The invention of the internet has been such a source of great information, and it keeps getting better! Every so often I get a special message from someone from Nigeria or some other place, a relative of mine actually, who just wants to give me the inheritance I deserve.

And then, because I am a wee bit older than most folks here, somebody assumes that I might just be interested in Viagra. How kind, even if not required! If everyone was so thoughtful, what a wonderful world it would be!!

Occasionally I even get a well intentioned message from a bank that I don't even belong to, about an issue I might have.

I can give you more examples of the kindness that resides, in spite of all the negativity we hear about. But isn't it good to know that people we do not even know, will go out of their way to help us?

Just got a beautiful text.....I just won about 2 million bucks! Wow....I am so happy, and getting a text is so cool! I keep winning. I just have to text this guy, and even if I have to send them something for the administration charges, life is great!! Between the internet and texts I have won piles of loot!!

That's great! Imagine my surprise when I started getting phone calls from Microsoft Windows. Not Microsoft the company, but the operating system. And the guy calling from the OS had a funny accent. Turns out the OS needed to access my PC for security reasons. I declined the offer of help but that offer sure was appreciated. I think the OS needs to find friendlier people to represent itself though. This guy was cussing a lot when I declined the help.

Isn't it nice that people who you would never, ever expect to meet, are suddenly entering our lives, and usually with something wonderful to provide!! I can not wait for another internet friend, or texting buddy to try to help me! Let's see, all I have to do is send them a few grand and then I get a fortune!!!

Slightly off topic, but I love it when folks catch those phone scammers. Even my usually friendly wife has caught some of them (by asking them some very simple questions), to which they get all weird, sometimes swear and then hang up. Trouble is, they do catch innocent folks, who are perhaps na´ve, and it is a real crime that they do.

I was ever so lucky to get an email and a phone call from the IRS telling me that they would love to help me clear up my unresolved tax issues that I don't have and to help me pay the taxes that I don't owe. They were really genuine about it as well. But they didn't do their research enough because they forgot my birth date.

Did they happen to mention that this was so urgent that if you do not respond immediately you would go straight to jail?

But wow, I can not even repeat what one of the "important" guys said to my wife when she grilled him a little.

    just before he hung up!!!

Oh yeah, if I didn't respond quickly, off to jail I'd go.
