If he turns out being really good at the position, what do we do with Paradis?

Then one should player center and the other should play right guard. It makes no sense to bench or trade Paradis if Garcia and Schofield continue to be awful. Keep the best 5 linemen on the field.

I'll take that problem. McGovern is just going into his 2nd year, if he gives us quality depth at OC and LG that would be huge for us IMO. Three years is a long time to have to make a decision on anything, Paradis is a keep as long as he is healthy.

The new offense has yet to be seen. Talk out of Dove Valley sounds like the rushing attack may turn out to be predominantly angle blocked. If that is their plan, preseason drills and full-contact practice will emphasize that and preseason games will show it. In that scenario, the best down blockers and pullers will have a leg up on those for whom it is new and/or challenging.

Among the college free agents signed by the Broncos, there is an intriguing guard/center: Erik Austell from Charleston Southern. He played left tackle in college, but will move inside because he is 6'3 with 32" arms. He is a two-time FCS All-American, played in the East-West Shrine Game and was invited to the Combine. Lance Zierlien wrote Austell has "tremendous foot quickness and overall athleticism". This one could surprise.

Charleston Southern had a heck of a game with Coastal Carolina last year. The Buccaneers beat the Chanticleers 59-58 in double overtime. Erik Austell helped Charleston Southern produce 473 yards of offense, while De'Angelo Henderson had 164 yards on 18 rushing attempts and 3 TDs for Coastal Carolina. One wonders if this might be one of those times when one player is discovered while scouting another.

It certainly seems that way. He was also one of the first guys I heard announce he was coming here...publicly.
