Hey Broncomaniacs, Hope you are recovered from some early days of Turkey and shopping.
Well this is one of the rare times where I can start a thread after a win. It was a nail biter, I would expect nothing less from this team.
They give you just enough hope and then like Lucy Van Pelt they pull the football out at the last minute.
The run game looked great last week. The D had a few issues and gave up at least 5 plays of 20 + yards. Case being Case had less then 60 yards passing going into the fourth quarter, not exactly the formula for winning football. Somehow, someway he turned it on in the 4th. Sanders and Sutton
got it going with some key catches and a frantic final drive got us a FG to win at the last second. Not textbook, but it was a win.
So now we have a home game against another hot team. The Steelers who had a sluggish start to the season have turned it around and are coming in with nice winning streak behind Conner, Schuster, Brown and Big Ben. Their defense has been improving as of late as well. They almost blew it to the Jags last week, but managed to find their groove in the 4th.
Their WRs will give our secondary fits if we can't get the pass rush to them. Miller and Chubb need to get pressure and hits on Big Ben.
Our rush game is great, Lindsay is a phenom. The Oline actually kept Case upright all game and Bolles kept his holding penalties to under 3.
I was amazed like the rest of you.
How do we do in Game # 11? Well we are a mediocre 5-5. Of the five wins 3 were at home, 2 on the road. Of the five losses 3 were at home, 2 on the road. Also means we had 6 home games and we split them.
Case has a better completion rate then Big Ben. In fact Both Qbs have thrown 10 Ints apiece. The only thing that really separates them is that
Case has thrown 11 TDs to Bens 23. It almost like they're the same person.
Schuster 64 Catches 866 Yards 3 TD. Brown 62 Catches 807 Yards 11 Tds. Conner 173 rushes 796 Yards 10 Tds
Sanders 60 Catches 763 Yards 3 TD Sutton 23 Catches 459 Yards 2 Tds (Lindsay/Royce) 199 rushes 1002 Yards 10 Tds.
Denver will need to play quick and smart. Case will have to be a bigger part of the game, we can't be so anemic in the passing game. If we do it will be over by half time. So lets hope Vance has this team prepared. Ya know as if he was fighting for his job.
As usual I again ask you follow the COC. We know we have issues, no need to blow up the board to tell everyone. Let the Mods do their job and report anyone who is causing issues. Thank you for all you do and being awesome posters who keep this place going season after season. Let's stay healthy and Hope we can enjoy the game and have a shot at the "W" As always, "Go Broncos"
