I think there are 4 kickers in the HoF. George Blanda and Lou Groza are also in. I don't see Elam as #5.

Maybe he has to at least be in the conversation of best of his era.

Of course, the fact that Elam was a Bronco works against him.
Agreed. Vinatieri is the only one I can think of right now.

Man, tell me about it. My younger brother is a crazy Ravens fan so we rarely agree on anything when it comes to football and I'll never forget the 2012-13 playoffs. I have a hard time cheering for his team even when the Broncos are not playing but he's my brother so I try to, sort of... lol. Consider me a big fan of Ed Reed too.. and Sanders/Lloyd the player – not so much the person behind the two.

The day the great #27 gets in I just might tear up. He's the reason I became a (permanent) Bronco fan in the first place. He was such a great player and an even better person off the field. He's done it the right way and it's awesome that he's back in Denver.

    From nfl.com

Pat Bowlen, Broncos owner and Gil Brandt, former Cowboys vice president of personnel will realize the culmination of wonderful football lives on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. Bowlen's leadership helped the Broncos go from decent team to consistent Super Bowl contenders, while his work in league committees pushed the NFL's growth forward as entertainment. There should be more Broncos in the Hall of Fame.

Totally agree. They they backhand bailey...

Champ Bailey, cornerback. Bailey owns no hardware, but, like Reed, was a dominant player during his prime, boasting a boatload of interceptions (52). Even though Walls and others have more, read the room (the voters' room, that is). Many voters are 35 or under, so Bailey was the first great corner they became familiar with. (Which, by the way, means many are too young to have even watched Deion Sanders in this prime. Eek.) Thus, Bailey makes it.

But then he pays Atwater a compliment..or did he pay cam one?

Steve Atwater, safety. He would be on my ballot. If you don't know who Atwater is, here is an easy comp: Think of him as the Kam Chancellor of the 1990s. Oh, but with a longer career and more Super Bowl starts. Bet you can infer which of the players on the predicted ballot I would replace.

    Which HOF stats are these?

    7× Pro Bowl (1975, 1977–1979, 1981–1983)
    2× First-team All-Pro (1977, 1978)
    3× Second-team All-Pro (1979, 1981, 1983)
    7× All-AFC selection (1976–1979, 1981–1983)
NFL Defensive Player of the Year (1978)

you are correct it is Randy Gradishar. To put his stats in perspective Atwater had 1,000 tackles in his career, Gradishar had twice that many in fewer games.

Completely different position in a completely different era. Can’t compare the two whatsoever.

Gradishar should be in but his exclusion by no means says Atwater shouldn’t be in.

You want to talk about tackles Atwater had twice as many as Ed Reed two who everyone projects as a lock today.
