Let's go! The guy I wanted. Wouldn't have minded Munchak either, but this is the hire that represents our team in my opinion.

For those who ask what motivation do they have to come here, well two star pass rushers that will no longer drop back in coverage but rather get after the QB under the godfather!

Am I the only one who thinks Fangio looks like Herman Munster?

Also its not gonna matter until we get an upgrade at QB.

It's funny how many coaches become geniuses once they have a QB, and other coaches are "bad" when they dont.

Of course, he gets to coach without the additional pressure and the automatic hot seat!

Yeah I hope we can get a QB as good as SB champs Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson or Joe Flacco.

I agree with you on that. And who knows how well Fangio will do? But if fans aren't bothered by the fact that this entire search and now hire has been centered around Kubiak, then I don't feel you're really assessing the situation objectively.

Fangio will obviously have a big influence over the defense both in terms of scheme and during game planning during the week, but I doubt he'll be running the defense on game day. Long hours was a factor in Kubiak's health. He'd spend a normal day being the HC and then reportedly spent hours into the night past everyone else looking at film, etc. Will Fangio be the same and, if so, how long will he last at 60 years old?

If not, then the DC hire will be very important as he will have as much game by game influence over the defense as Fangio. Will the DC be someone with a decent track record himself, a younger guy Fangio might mentor, or someone with knowledge of his defense who could seamlessly run it? A name to consider - Ed Donatell. He's been DB coach with Fangio in both Chicago and San Francisco. Has prior DC experience, although mixed results. Also coached with the Broncos previously.
