I was just thinking about that one myself and wondered where I put that gif. It worked in those circumstances but it wasn't a regular occurrence, IIRC. Woods seem to retain his old DB coach priorities with the secondary when he moved to DC which explains why guys were dropping back more.

I'd rather trade him for 2 and draft Nick Bosa to pair with Chubb. Way more stout that way. Gonna be hard to watch Von rely on speed in his 30s
It's already happening. Von was matched up one on one quite a bit last season and lost alot of those match ups. Where as in the past, he would eat them up.

Not to imply anything but.... As this past season progressed I felt that MAYBE Von had given up or perhaps just wasn't "feelin" it. He had a crappy coaching staff to work for. Lost a 3 game losing streak that ended in the second losing season in a row... Hard to stay motivated when things are going to he'll in a hand basket..Hopefully it was Psychological and not physical. I do not believe he has lost a step or even a half a step and with a new coaching staff maybe this defense can get back on track.

i was going 15 sacks each. and it wouldn't be to much of a difference from this season where von got 14.5 and Chubb got 12. so that would be .5 sacks more fro miller and 3 more for chubb.

Defense wins championships. i think if you go look back at last few super bowls even the best defense won the game. i am still a firm believer that Defense wins championships and offense puts people in the seats.

If a defense is going to use zone blitz, Von Miller will be in coverage on some of those, and so will Chubb or anyone else who lines up in a technique position (i.e., 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9)

While that may have been true before what is different now in the "newer" NFL is that these refs are allowing offensive lineman to hold more then ever before. We are even seeing BLATANT holds go uncalled. Typically when we see a jersey 'stretched' it was usually an automatic call and we also used to see the hand grab on the pads as the lineman ran by get called as well. Now that play does not get called often so long as the O-lineman lets go...eventually...lol

So is this Von losing a step or is this Von getting held more than usual? There was also the fact that in years past we had MUCH better interior pressure AND MUCH MUCH better DB play. So Von had time. Peko rarely beat his single or double coverage. Wolfe was the same and Gotsis got home a few times but not regularly.

Dont forget the blatant false starts that are starting to be missed with more regularity

This isn't far off, I believe Von had 14.5 and Chubb 12.5 this year, it is very possible they both reach 15 under Fangio.

And that's with a horrible defensive playcaller who had one or both out in coverage more than they should be.

It is so far from very possible, I don't know what to tell anyone who thinks so. Most years, there are 2 or 3 pass rushers over 15 sacks. The best there has been in the past 10 years is 4 players with 15+ sacks. The odds of 2 of them, in the same year on the same team, are astronomical.

    want to take the bet?
