He is 34 years old.
But he may have a couple years left? We can draft a QB This year.

Great another old washed up bum, cant wait for more mediocrity and another pass on drafting our franchise QB
Stupid, idiotic, foolish, shortsighted, lazy, moronic, I could go on and on. This trade is absolute garbage. I don’t care if we gave up a bag of Doritos for him. He got beat out by a rookie who can’t even throw a football. This is so stupid it’s beyond me how John could even comprehend that this is a good move.
I as so so so hoping that you left "what if" from the title......![]()

Only way I see this working is if you plan to have him for 1 year and you still grab a young QB that is considered more of a project in this draft. Have him sit and move on from Flacco and hand the keys to the rookie in year 2. Similar to the Mahomes and Alex Smith situation.
Disgusting.
Mid-round pick for Flacco? Elway is desperate and in over his head. Watch him draft Lock as well. What a train wreck.

Not sure I get this trade.... Flacco is not that much of an improvement over Keenum, he hasn't been good since the superbowl.
Hopefully Broncos didn't trade too much.
"I'm scared if I stop all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me."
It better just be a 'bridge' move until the rookie we draft is ready.
I didn't want, and still don't want Flacco, and would feel better if he was mobile, but at least he can make every throw (short & deep) and hit his receivers 'in stride'...unlike all the under-throws & over-throws the guy we have now habitually makes. Hopefully that guy will be released/traded soon.

Special thanks to Sam_Z for the SB rings collage above
This almost gaurantees Elway takes Lock at 10 with Flacco we the veteran bridge for a year.
Unlike those assuming it means we can now take a better talented position elsewhere at 10.
We all know he can throw the Bomb at Mile High Stadium.
It's a good move, he can mentor Lock if we can get him.
So we're replacing a 2003 Honda Accord with a 2001 Nissan Maxima?
That's how I see it. Lock needs to work on his footwork since he seems to like throwing off his back foot a lot. So I'm guessing that is the plan. Draft a qb give him time like mahomes and hope Flacco can steer the ship in the right direction while the team gets changes over to the new systems.
