Iím with you on that, heís been set up nicely. I consider it more of a good job done by Belichick than anybody. Heís set Brady up nicely with the run game and different backs to dump the ball off to this late in his career. Regardless, there is no real argument against him being the top QB. 6 rings pretty much seals the deal. Brady, Montana and Manning are all pretty well locked into the top 3 spots. Then youíve a bunch of tier 2 QBs below them. There certainly is no logical argument that puts Elway in the top 3 among the elite.

No much to say, his playoff record is what it is, it changes nothing.
Heís the only QB to win a SB with 2 different teams which is pretty huge. And to do it after a broken neck is unheard of. Such a disadvantage for an NFL QB to have in the prime of their career, but he still managed to get it done, even with his body never returning back to 100%.

Even in the playoffs, Elway managed to be a turnover machine.
    27 TDs-21 ints-14 fumbles.

There were very few flaws in Manningís game, but with Elway you got some different issues, BIG issues. Itís just so hard to take the Elway talk seriously with all those turnovers and sacks. Had he learned to protect the ball better, and not take so many sacks he could have had such a better career. Youíre talking a potential 3rd ring, and then a prolonged career had he known how to take care of his body (and ball) better.
Like I said a couple pages back, Elway could probably learn a lot if he attended the Manning Passing Academy here in a couple months.

Yep. That, and being unwilling to even acknowledge the elephant in the room (league rule changes resulting in bloated passing numbers), is further proof this is just trolling.

Oh thereís nothing fun about seeing Ďol John Elway slowly fall down the GOAT list, soon to an after thought with the current crop of QB. Itís too bad he took so many sacks and was unable to protect the ball, otherwise he might actually have a shot in this debate.

SMR is turning some people absolutely inside/out. And doing it with facts. Personally, I'd put Elway 2-4 historically. Both Manning and Marino have some great claims. They could be easily interchangeable depending on the criteria.
