Because everything this team has done regarding Lock, from unnecessarily putting him on IR, to Elway's and Fangio's statements regarding him, to sticking with Brandon Allen likely until the end of the year, tells you they have no desire to actually develop Lock and make him the franchise quarterback. AT THE VERY LEAST if they had any hope or faith in Lock he would be the backup to Allen going into these last two games. But they were weary of going into the season with him as the backup to Flacco, which was why they put him on IR and traded for Allen in the first place.

The Broncos could have gotten a bona fide starter with the pick, or they could have had both Devin Bush and Dalton Risner right now. They have no freaking clue what to do with the position, and now we're going with Trevor Siemian 2.0 in Brandon Allen!

This is pretty much spot on. Elway needs to stop taking QBs that are 2-3 year projects. Osweiler was a failure. Lynch was a failure. If Lock succeeds, it will be because he's given proper development time.

But in Denver, we don't give QBs proper development time. Cutler sat... for a few games. Tebow sat... for a few games. Osweiler sat but that's because he had a Hall of Famer ahead of him. But even Peyton got benched for Brock eventually.

Young QBs get put in the pressure cooker early in Denver. We'll find success when we find a guy that can come in day 1 and take charge of the offense. All these project QBs just aren't ever going to work here.

It was a mistake. Clearly. There's no plan for him whatsoever. It's the same thing with Paxton Lynch - you have the front office drafting quarterbacks the coaching staff wants nothing to do with.

And it's not just drafting project quarterbacks but drafting these project quarterbacks who've never played under center in college or even high school, then expecting them to play in this Kubiak/Shanahan system that requires the quarterback to spend 80% of the time under center!

I'm just so frustrated with the ineptness of this front office to make good, common sense decisions.

At this point, it's probably harder to find a guy that has played under center.

Well, that leads to arguments about why we keep trying to stay with the Kubiak offense that clearly isn't working (at least in Denver) and why we've been stuck with the Trevor Siemians, Case Keenums, Joe Flaccos, and Brandon Allens of the world. Kubiak and Elway were so adamant that this is the greatest offense ever, that they forced Peyton Manning - PEYTON MANNING - to run it despite his skill set not fitting it.

It might seem like he isnít important enough to invest the time in, but maybe itís the opposite. Maybe Elway, Fangio and Scangarello believe not pushing to play him this season is the right approach. I might disagree with that approach but they might believe they are investing the time, just a in a different way.

I'm just dreading the so called 'competition' between Lock and Bridgewater, Newton, Mariota, or whoever they bring in. Which Lock will eventually lose. And we're here all over again.
For some reason our franchise QB always seems to be on another team.

Elway hasnít figured out the QB position but that doesnít mean theyíre managing this situation the wrong way. Iíve been one of the most vocal critics of Elway and generally speaking I think theyíve mismanaged Lock. However, they might sincerely believe taking a slower approach is the right way to go.

While many of us believe it would benefit Lock to play, Scangarello commented about the importance of learning as much as possible before playing. If we think about Allen heís had four years of development. He wasnít a highly talented prospect however look at how heís played in two games - no regular season starts before playing vs Browns. He wasnít spectacular in either game but he held his own. For a marginally talented guy maybe his play speaks to the value of learning from camps, preseason and being a backup.

I do believe it would help Lock to play this season but itís not the end of the world if he doesnít.

Not the end of the world but if he doesnít play this year who are you rolling into camp with next summer?

Lock, Allen and Rypien. If Joe Burrow is in striking distance of our pick move up to draft him.

If itís those 3, then there is no reason to not play Lock this season. He has no threat next summer.

I donít disagree and believe Lock will play the last two games. A few games wonít make or break his career.

True, but it may make or break my decision to buy tickets to the Chargers game
