TE Jake Butt to miss Broncos' final preseason game

Sounds like Jake Butt may be done at least for the foreseeable future.

They need to just stop drafting tight ends.

None of them can stay healthy.

We could make a TE from corpse parts gathered from a local cemetery and get more games played out of it. Should the scouting department be hanging out at a local cemetery during a lightning storm looking for depth? Maybe.

That would consist of John Elway and Matt Russell! Lol At least the two at the top.

Butt just may be finished in Denver!

Sucks for butt but at least we still have Jeff Heuerman
                -Bronco in UT

While I both agree and disagree with many posts in this thread I have to lean towards champ on this one. Jay really needs to learn how to manage the game better, and also to learn that you don't have to go for the big play EVERY time on every drive. There is something to be said to check the ball down and live to fight another day. -Great Post Cut the Excuses out please. sigh...

I thought he looked very good when he got on the field. Sad he can’t stay healthy but Fumagalli seems to be picking it up.

I love that all our Tes are from the B1G

Yeah, and if we would've stayed healthy, he would've been a steal in the 5th. A lot of people questioned Dallas taking Jaylon Smith, but lo and behold that was a steal now. 5th round for the best TE in the B1G, and one of the two or three best tight ends in college football. it's worth it in the 5th, despite having a history of knee problems.

So right now Heuermen has been out, Butt is out, Fant is out. I think Fumagalli is the only healthy TE we have that should still be on the team week one. Well one of these other guys might make it over Butt unless we decide to IR him yet again.

Maybe that’s why we never have any healthy ones.

He was low risk as a 5th rounder I agree butt the issue is that he was expected to be a starter after his one year on IR.

Butt only just started to practice. IMO - he really had no business playing a long as he did.
