Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Say by chance we get 1st pick in the draft..(slim chance for now)...
Hard to say . I really dont know who's out there . I mean if we have #1 and theres a OL that's the caliber of Nelson a top 5 pick I think you trade back to a Qb hungry team and then get that said OL plus picks. Someone with more knowledge of the draft class will have more info. The only thing I can say and it's just my opinion , theres not 1 Qb coming out that I think I'd take with the #1 spot.
Well if we’re first then that means the dolphins are behind us and I don’t see how they don’t take a QB first so I’d trade back with them and grab the top LT to help protect Lock.
Lock will be fine when he gets his chance. The offense isn’t that far off, young players are in place for a young QB, just need some protection for him.

Ok if this is the scenario, what do we get in return for #1?

To go from 1 to 2 it’s likely a first round swap and a 2nd round pick thrown in. To drop down to 3 we’d get a 2nd and a 3rd. Depending on how far we feel comfortable dropping we could get a king’s Ransom but it would depend on who is picking where. If the Bengals are 3rd and we’re first they might want to leapfrog Miami for their choice of QB, but say a team like the Redskins are 3rd they’re likely drafting a lineman or some defensive help so any trade would be made with a side deal of being not to take X player.
It’ll just depend on how the board plays out, but I think if we had the first pick this would be the ideal draft to trade down to build some quality around Lock vs starting over with a new wildcard at QB and have more holes than if we kept Lock and traded down. Theoretically speaking of course as any draft pick can be a bust.
As interesting as it would be to add Fromm/Herbert/Tua to the mix, we seem to need A LOT to get this turned around. I voted to trade back for Booty, to hopefully help us acquire more contributors. Stick with Lock, give him a couple years.
Before I could say who we’d pick first overall. I’d need to see Lock start the moment he gets out of IR. To see if there’s potential in Lock. Small sample size I know but something you’d need to see/evaluate.
If I had the choice I’d move back to a top 5 pick and get as much capital as you can. Von, Wolfe, Sanders, Leary, and CHJ will all be gone after this year(imo). So we have a lot of holes to fill. I’d prob Start with OL or DL. I’m a firm believer you go QB/OL/ or DL with the top two rounds.
I think the rebuild will take a few years and if we really suck again next year I’m all in on Lawerence in the next draft.
