We all have to do our part, LOL. I need to get a new laptop to be able to give CPs, or is there a way on mobile? Thanks!

If you are on Android you can hold down the link to CP and open it in a new window, I think. I have done it on other boards and I assume it'll work here. Time for random +1 to test it out.

I see the issue now. I don't care for the mobile version of the site so I have my browser set to display the site as a web page on my phone instead. I am using Chrome on an Android phone, I don't know if that helps. I did that just now and was able to +1 an earlier response in this thread.

Interesting stat on the Broncos Daily local TV show. On 3rd down last year Gordon picked up a first 60% of the time and Lindsay 30% with SD's OL being even lower rated than ours. Where Gordon excels is in tight spaces with 8 in the box.

Gordon can also run routes and catch, PL doesnt.

SaltySnipes: Gordon can also run routes and catch, PL doesn't.

Two more positive reasons for acquiring Gordon. Yippee!

Lindsay has 70 receptions in his career (35 each year) for a mere 6.2 ypc and only one TD in 31 games played.

Gordon has 74 catches in his first two years for 8,25 ypc and 3 TDs in 27 games played.

Gordon stats are better, but not exceptionally so. According to the stats, both of them have YAC higher than their actual YPC, which means they are making alot of catches behind the lLOS, so screen and safety valve/dump off catches. Without looking at video, none of the data shows that Gordon is better route runner than Lindsay.

Even Christian McCaffrey has higher YAC than YPC. Almost every RB will because screens, flats, swings are going to make up the majority of their receptions and they can be caught anywhere from at the LoS to 6 yards behind it. Gordon is a solid route runner as a RB and was split out wide a good bit because of it. He isnít McCaffrey or some of the other pass catching specialists but heís more than capable of being a weapon receiving when itís asked of him.

The production may be similar but Gordon has never been the pass catching specialist because of guys like Woodhead and Ekeler. Lindsay couldnít beat out a 230 pound power back for receiving duties.

I was wondering why Stokley was starting trouble with our new star FA signing?
He Seems like a trouble maker to me?
(Shouldn't we be happy to have another Race horse in the Stable)

The media narrative is that we overpaid for a RB in free agency. The analytics indicate that paying crucial millions of cap towards a veteran RB is not the way to go, which is a fair assessment. What is not fair is what Stokley responded to Gordon withóessentially telling him to his face (on Twitter) that he was a mistake because ďcap could have been used elsewhereĒ. Itís not Gordonís fault that Denver offered him a contract, and if we were in his position and poised to make much more money on our first contract outside of a rookie dealó of course we would take it too. I think itís all being blown out of proportion by the media because Gordon is only locked in for two years, meaning that by the time his deal is upó we will have money to start re-signing our 2018 draftees and have some cap flexibility overall. Why not add a nice piece to complement Lindsay too? Keeps #30 fresher and lessens our overall dependency on Freeman. Plus, Gordon is a better receiving back than Lindsay and a better blocker than Freeman. We need that veteran presence in the backfield behind Lock. I think it was a good move by our FO. At most, we have arguably one of the best RB duos in the NFL. At worst, we have an upgrade over Freeman.

The Gordon deal is a rare scenario where everyone wins. Gordonís deal does not hinder our ability to sign anyone still out there as once Simmons gets extended itíll lower his cap number and we can sign any of the names listed if we canít already. We also get a top 10 ish RB (after the top 3, 4-20 are pretty interchangeable.) And its only a 2 year deal, there arenít any cap ramifications beyond next year if he doesnít play well. If he doesnít play well, Lindsay is making peanuts on the dollar and has been playing well, similar to the Flynn/Wilson situation in Seattle except Lindsay and Gordon have both proven what theyíre capable of already. Gordon wins because itís about as high as any FA RB is going to get for awhile, heís on a team thatís trending up with an improving oline (better than his previous for sure), a young QB that will rely on the ground game at times, and itís still a short enough contract to where he can parlay it into a similar if not better contract when this one expires.

The media just wants to have a story and I think the whole Klis/Schefter Twitter spat gave enough fuel to this fire to keep it going for awhile. People can point to Gurley, but Gurley likely took a little less from Atlanta because heís from Georgia and the Rams still owe him money so thatís a different situation. Plus Gurley seemingly has to be monitored day to day to keep his knee in check. Gordonís been very vocal this offseason, which I presume is because heís been letís just say sufficiently agitated by the talk around him being ďoverpaidĒ. Itís a good source for motivation and heíll use it push himself which will in turn make Lindsay push harder.
