    Trade down mock!

    When pick 15 rolls around the top 4 OTs are off the board, Isaiah Simmons is off the board, and Ruggs and Lamb are off the board. However there is 1 WR left in Jerry Jeudy. Draft experts strongly feel Elway will snatch him up, but as Denver’s timer winds down to zero a “trade alert” comes up.

    The Minnesota Vikings, who covet a WR to replace Diggs, want Jeudy badly.

    The trade;

    Minnesota receives;
    1st round pick (#15)
    3rd round pick (#77)

    Denver receives
    1st round pick (#22)
    1st round pick (#25)

    They overpay a little to move up, but like I said they want Jeudy bad. We also replace the 3rd round pick they lose in the Trent Williams trade.

    Here we go;

    1. (22) LB Patrick Queen (LSU)
    1. (25) OT Josh Jones (Houston)
    2. (46) WR K.J. Hamler (Penn St)
    3. (83) C Tyler Biadasz (Wisc)
    3. (95) CB Lamar Jackson (Neb)

    Now that’s a haul. Day 1 starting ILB replacing Todd Davis, Bolles eventual replacement at LT, our #2 WR and the burner we need to open up the offense, and our probable day 1 Center.

    Minn is not going to trade 2 first for #15 pick, if they want a player that bad they could move up to 7-10 range and get a 3rd back. I did sim a trade down to22 and it looked like this:

    22.
    Patrick Queen - ILB /w coverage skills
    OLB LSU

    46.
    Tee Higgins - Can play inside or out, good complimentary WR
    WR Clemson

    58.
    Jeremy Chinn - Big Nickle?
    S Southern Illinois

    74.
    Lloyd Cushenberry - OC comp
    C LSU

    83.
    Matt Peart - OT depth, James replacement in 2021?
    OT UConn

    95.
    Cam Akers - Value too good to pass up.
    RB Florida State

    118.
    Bryce Hall - More CB depth, think he is a sleeper coming off injury
    CB UVA
    Ravens GM 2016 - Ravens are looking to trade down 4-8 spots

    Only way this happens is if Jeudy is still there at 15, and that's not likely. But dang, 2 firsts? Yes please.

    Based on the trade value chart those two picks are equal to the value of pick 7. With Carolina in full rebuild mode, and it appears embracing being bad, I think they'd make that trade. But if they didn't teams with picks 8-14 surely would. So I don't think it's a likely scenario. Denver would be lucky to get picks 22 and 58 for pick 15, Minnesota would still be giving up more than they'd be getting by the trade value chart.

    https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp

    I'd also be quite angry Denver passed on the best WR (in my opinion) in the draft. If Jeudy falls to them, they should be picking with 8:30 still left on their 10 minute clock.

    Good job! Keeps us busy.

    First, I assume the Trent Williams trade is a projection, or did I miss the news??

    Second, yes, the trade favours us by 100 points, but you did say that they were willing to give up something. So, fair enough.

    Given that, I would not be disappointed if this was the outcome. You take care of the Oline, WR, ILB and CB...all positions we must address. I would prefer a little bit more at WR, but I'm good if Sutton is the primary target as long as we have an infusion of a quality player(s) to support. I do like having a really good ILB, because our D needs help up the middle. Might need a little more at corner, but hey, this is splitting hairs.

    Keep 'em coming gang!!

    I understand, but loads of experts do it as well. If I can be honest, hardly ever do I see a mock draft come close to reality. That's one reason why I was a Mike Mayock fan, because one draft, he pretty much nailed the first round, pick by pick that evening.

    Would you give up one of a Ruggs, Jeudy, Lamb or Thomas for a combined Reagor, Chinn and AJ Green?

    Did a trade down with Green Bay scenario:

    We give up 15.

    Green Bay gives us 30, 62 and 94 (1st, 2nd and 3rd)

    The 4rd mock looked like this:

    My Picks
    1.Jalen Reagor
    WR, Texas Christian
    From Green Bay Packers

    2.Austin Jackson
    OT, USC

    3.Jeremy Chinn
    S, Southern Illinois
    From Green Bay Packers

    4.Cameron Dantzler
    CB, Mississippi State

    5.Lucas Niang
    OT, Texas Christian

    6.A.J. Green
    CB, Oklahoma State
    From Green Bay Packers

    7.Leki Fotu
    DL, Utah
    From Houston Texans

    8.Akeem Davis-Gaither
    LB, Appalachian State

    9.Jordan Elliott
    DL, Missouri
    From Houston Texans

    10.Troy Pride Jr.
    CB, Notre Dame

    Anything can happen I suppose, I mean the Raiders did draft a kicker in R1.

    Let's hope they do it again this year

    So trade down works great if you find the right trade partner or buy in to the players selected. Just read the Sports Illustrated mock draft posted on 4/2/20. Would you do this?

    Broncos trade #15 to the Eagles for the 21st and 53rd.

    Eagles select the “field stretching element” Ruggs to help Wentz. ( My point is the Broncos could use that too)

    * 21- Queen ILB LSU
    46- Reagor. WR. TCU
    * 53 - Niang OT TCU
    77- R. Davis IDL ALA
    83- J. Lynch IDL Baylor
    95- D. Holmes CB UCLA

    21- Jones
    46- KJ Hamler
    53- Pittman
    77- Jordan Elliot
    83- Bryce Hall
    95- Hennessy
