Todd Devoe has been a standout on special teams. I've seen him in on numerous tackles and a key block for Charlie Adams on a huge return.

Shanny's goals this year is Red-zone improvement and Special teams. I think Devoe should make the team based on his special teams contribution.

He's proven he CAN catch. I hope we don't have to depend on more than Rod, Ashlie, Putz, and the RB's catching the ball this year. If someone goes down, then I'd rather have someone like him, than an inconsistent person.

I just hope he makes the team. I am starting to get a little nervous. I firmly believe he and Adams can contribute to this team. I also firmly believe one of them is going to get cut because Rice will be left on the team. I love Rice, but he can not be left on this team on stature alone. He needs to produce like these two young guys have in order to make a roster spot.

Why does it have to be either/or? I think we carry 6 WRs:

        Smith
        Lelie
        Rice
        Watts
        Adams
        Devoe

I agree, Devoe and Adams can both play special teams and then when their name is called for game time, they will come in and produce on the offense.

He's a playmaker. We need them, especially for ST.

The question is: Will the Broncos carry 6 WRs. It's easy to say "keep all 6", but that means sacrifice in some other area. The Broncos are already looking at maybe keeping 11 DL, so that bubble players Dorsett Davis and Anton Paleopoi, who have both played well during the pre-season, can be kept (normally teams keep 9).

If that happens it will be tough to keep 6 WRs.

Another factor is whether the team keeps Ernster as kickoff specialist. It might happen, in which case there are 4 special teams players (normally teams keep 3). that squeezes the roster as well, and means that another player must be cut.

On the other hand, will the team keep 3 QBs or only 2 on the active roster? Last year Shanahan only kept 2, but Kanell was experienced. Having a backup QB who has never played 1 down during the regular season as your only backup might be too scary for Shanahan. He might want Matt Mauch for insurance.

That also would squeeze the roster.

Lots of decisions. It's not only based on Devoe's performance, but other positions factor in as well.

I hope he makes it. I like the way he has taken advantage of his opportunities. Everytime I see his # on the field, it's because he's made a good play.

But Charlie Adams is ahead of Devoe on the depth chart and has done nothing but good things too, especially on special teams. So probably he gets the nod over Todd Devoe (who is unfortuantely uneligible for the PS).

I'm glad to see Todd has some support. I played Juco ball with him, he really does have that kind of speed and is on of the most tenacious recievers i have ever seen. I have literally seen balls intercepted and Todd take the ball away. Also, don't detract from him going d2 he had scholarships at many d1 schools, he just had a little problem with people telling him he didn't have to go to class just come play for us. either way i am jsut glad he made it. also i question you to point out anyone who runs any prettier(for lack of a better term), its just a beautiful thing to watch.

                  roost,

I was a teammate of Todd at CMSU. He is a class act. I hope he makes the final 53 man roster. I know he has a daughter, and it would really go far in him supporting her very well. I lockered next to him for 2 years, so we became pretty good friends. People question his speed, but we both know he can fly. I've seen him go 99 yards and just pull away. He ran a 21.34 200M in track in college. That is moving.

I think that Todd's and Charlie's performance against the Cards will do a lot to determine who stays and who goes. Both should see extensive playing time because most of the starters won't play and I'm thinking JR won't play much either. I'm pulling for Devoe to make the team and hope he gets a few looks from BVP and Mauck. I think this game will be the deciding factor for many of the "bubble" players.

                      not bandwagoning

its not that, its just that we like what we see. If someone performs well of course it gonna be talked about.

As far as him going through two other teams, that one is very easy. Niether team has a system that would be suitable to develop young recievers.
