Crosby could have been a first day pick THIS year. He WILL be a low 1st or a 2nd next year, with similar success this season. You don't want the Broncos useing that high of a pick on a kicker, a luxury the team does not have. They are not that close. Keeping three kickers while Elam finishes his career (especially since it would almost surely mean the end of Van Punks days as a Bronco, can't keep 3 QBs and 3 Kickers) , but the Broncos have serious needs on the D-line.
Btw, anyone who doesn't think Crosby is better than Nugent is not paying attention.

All I said was that Nugent was great his Senior year at Ohio State. He made 5 out of 6 kicks from more than 50 yards and could have kicked it farther. I'm not saying Mason Crosby isn't any good, I'm just saying that I don't think he has done enough YET to be considered better than Nugent. That doesn't mean he WON'T be though.

well, people that have actually seen both and can actually make the comparison they would say Crosby is better, seeing his clutch kicks and winning games *sometimes* by scoring CU's only points

Well I haven't seen both, so I guess it would be unfair on my part to say which is better. Crosby does sound like a good kicker though.

I guess he is pretty good. I had never seen him before, but I think I had heard of him. Making a 60 yarder is pretty impressive. Making 3 clutch feild goals to beat CSU is also pretty impressive. I'll haveto keep an eye out for him this year.
