Broncos Safety Arrested On Bond Violation

    Sam Brandon article

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Denver Broncos safety Sam Brandon faces an Oct. 3 trial on charges of third-degree assault and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.

On Monday, Brandon was arrested in a Castle Rock courtroom after a judge revoked his bond posted for the charges stemming from a domestic violence incident last July.

District attorney spokeswoman Kathleen Walsh said the 27-year-old was found to have violated terms of his release by leaving the state. He was released Monday after posting a new bond of $10,000.

Brandon signed a contract extension with the Broncos in February.

He appeared in 14 games last regular season, splitting his time on defense and special teams. He recorded 20 tackles, three pass breakups and one fumble recovery. He also filled in at cornerback.

interesting. I never heard anything when the incident first happened. Wierd how they tell you he left the state but nothing about where he went. Wonder if he went to the 4 corners and put his foot in one of the other 3 states....

Where he went propbably isnt as important as the fact he did leave, thereby violating his release terms.

    Gee im shocked

This is a sham on Castle Rocks legal system, c'mon judge i mean seriously,
you have to take advantage of a situation? For those of you who do not know, Castle Rock is a small po-dunk town, there just taking advantage of the revenue, athletes travel more then most people for all the right reasons, its not like the guy left to avoid being prosecuted.
I am football, I am fan, bronco fan i am.

That's actually not as bad as it looks...

I wonder if the leaving state thing was when he was playing away games?

This isn't the first time Sam Brandon has been in trouble with the law. This isn't another "opening" for Browner, because there is no way the Broncos are going to get rid of a guy who they extended this past off-season who will more than likely become a starter once Lynch or Ferguson retires. This isn't good for Sam or the organization, but they are just misdemeanors. . . it's not like he pulled a gun on somebody ala Sean Taylor.
