    I'm going for it...
    Lelie on the Roster:

    1. Rod Smith
    2. Ashley Lelie
    3. Javon Walker
    4. Brandon Marshall
    5. David Terrell
    6. Darius Watts or Todd Devoe

    Lelie off the Roster:

    1. Rod Smith
    2. Javon Walker
    3. Brandon Marshall
    4. David Terrell
    5. Darius Watts
    6. Todd Devoe or Charlie Adams
    7. Domenik Hixon (Practice Squad)

Lelie knows the system and will HAVE to prove a point if he comes back!

    1. Rod Smith - Coming off Pro Bowl year, and, according to reports, not slowing down yet.
1a. Javon Walker - Heimerdinger thinks he has the potential to be the top WR in the league if healthy.
    3. Darius Watts - Has been described as having "sick" talent. If he can hang onto passes, only a Smith or Walker can keep him from going higher.
    4. David Terrell - Just had to grow up is all. Claims he has. If so, he can be good anywhere on the field.
    5. Brandon Marshall - A stud. Only inexperience can keep him from being a serious problem for Watts and Terrell.
    6. Adams, Devoe, or Hixon. Value is on ST. Adams and Devoe are experienced there, while Hixon could be a valuable return man.

Ashley has blown it. If he does come back, he will be the best deep receiver we have, but not the best receiver (all-around) by any stretch. He might fit in ahead of Terrell now, but he will have trouble with Watts, who is good deep and short.

    IMHO.

With the increasing possibility of Ashley coming back, according to reports today, I need to revise my order (just in case):

    1. Rod Smith
    1a. Javon Walker
    3. Darius Watts
    4. David Terrell
    5. Ashley Lelie
    6. Brandon Marshall

Ashley may have a hard time drawing a 4th in a trade next year.

I do like the idea of making Ash work his way back to the top after this. I personally think he is gutless. Not wanting to compete against a 36 year old man or a guy coming off ACL surgery. That aside, he has led the NFL in yard per catch. He must be utilized if here. Since we rarely run 4 reciever sets, he wouldn't be.

I think at the start Terrell because of his experience being in Chicago as a former #1 gets the nod over Watts as the #3. As the season progresses, Watts learns and slowly is eased into the #3 role, making him earn it more and work, and work harder during the year. Either way, Terrell and Watts are interchangable as the #3/4. Possibly mid-way through or late in the season Watts begins getting more reps as the #3.

If i have to bet, my bet would be just on something like this.

    1. Rod Smith
    2. Javon Walker
    3. Ash Le-Lay (Lelie)*
    4. Darius Watts
    5. Brandon Marshall
    6. David Terrell.
    7. Domenik Hixon.

*Yes, i think he will be there tomorrow.
** I think we're goin to take 7 recivers to the final roster, and if we dont, just take off lelie.

    Guess the WR depth.

wow we have so much talent and depth at this position, its really hard to tell who will it be. Here's mine........

    1. Rod Smith
    2. Jevon Walker
    3. david Terrell/D. Watts
    4. Darius Watts/ D. Terrell
    5. Brandon Marshall
    6. David Kircus
    7.Todd Devoe

I too, think we will go with 7 recivers. Its just to much talent at that position not too.

    agreed...

i really see walker take over this year as #1 like half way through the season if he stays healthy...

Have a hard time believing we'll get rid of either of our fourth round receivers, especially Marshall. Have a hard time we'll get rid of Charlie Adams if Lelie isn't here since he has valuable special teams experience, a role as a #3 receiver and time in the system. Not really sold on Devoe or Terrell. . .
Cheers - saved me some time - I agree with the above post.

    Hot Rod
    D Walk
    D Terrell
    D Watts
    B Marshall
C Adams (As a Kick Returner)

    D Terrell over T Devoe.
D Hixon will wind up on IR.
Shanny can't give up on Watts yet, especially with the expected loss of Lelie.
B Clark, D Kircus et all, thanks for coming...
