Arrow Official Game Day Thread: Week 1 2006 Broncos vs Rams

    Hmmm, let's see....

    - On the road

    - vs a new coach

    - vs a team we should beat

    - vs Scott Linehan

Of course we don't have to worry about the heat but let's hope we have a better start against the Rams then we did against Miami last year.

Anyone else thinks this first game looks familair?

    now you're getting me nervous.
We SHOULD beat them handily, but i think the fact that there is no heat factor makes that a whole lot more of a reality.

Well being on turf doesn't really make me feel good, either.

I think we'll be ready, though. They've got enough questions on D IMHO for us to exploit, and if we sick Champ on Torry Holt hopefully we can keep they're passing game subdued. Anyone have stats on hand of how/if Champ has matched up with Holt before?
Go Broncos, make me keep believing this year

I think the first four games will be really tough for Denver. We can win them all but to start off with St Louis, ouch, they looked good last night. I know can't judge preseason from regular.

Good point! I hope it doesn't turn out like last year. That was embarrassing. Remember Scott Linehan was with the Dolphins last year.

It will be a close, high-scoring game. Their offense scares me but their defense still does not. I think we come out on top though.

If Bulger were to get injured then you could add Frerotte to the equation as well.

With the schedule we have we can't afford to lose this game.
You've got to know when to sack em...

You forgot 11:00 am start time (MST).

I remember hearing last year before the opener against Miami that Shanny's record in Eastern Time Zone games is the worst of any other catagory.

Yes, it is starting to sound eerily familiar.

Not having to worry about the heat and the humidity is a big plus.

I could actually see us losing this one.

Rams aren't bad and they can go on a tear when they are feeling good...

Plus, as someone else pointed out, turf is hard to play on especially with our running style..

They can score, but they strike me as being soft. Hopefully we can slap 'em around a bit.

They may be soft but with Bulger returning and healthy (mostly) and guys like Torry Holt and Steven Jackson, they will be a force to be reckoned with on their turf. Our D will really need to play their best game in that one, otherwise it could get ugly fast...

Well, this time around we don't have McCaffrey to catch-and-roll into the endzone,

I met Steve Jackson this offseason (photoshoot for my magazine... he's a Vegas local), and I told him I am a Broncos fan and he was like "Yea, we face eachother in Game 1 of the season". And I said, "don't worry man... Game 2 will be better for your team".

We shared a good laugh, but I hope I didn't light a fire under his ass, lol
