Schottenheimer will be back to coach the Chargers for 2007

This just came in over the KFFL wire.

Chargers | Schottenheimer to coach team in 2007
    Wed, 17 Jan 2007 13:33:06 -0800

ESPNews reports San Diego Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer will be retained and coach the team for the 2007 season.

I heard on ESPN news that the deal is a 1 year deal for roughly 4 million.

Here's a link to Fox sports. They are reporting it now.

    Good

They would be stupid to get rid of him.

Since it is only a one year option. Hopefully the Browns sign him in 2008!!

I agree it would have been dumb to get rid of him.

I think SD is making a big mistake IMHO. He is a putrid playoff coach.

lets go over all the mess ups on Sunday

going for it on 4th and 11 in the 1st qtr. not bright

challenging the int/fumble play after it was clear to my 5 year old that was not a
fubmle. Think Rivers could have used that timeout at the end of the game.

Calling a timeout to "ice the kicker" on a 35 yard fg, when you had none left after that one.

Sorry this is the equivlent of the Red Sox keeping Grady Little.

But hey they can do what they want. As long as Schottenheimer and Edwards are in the West, Denver will always have the upper hand in coaching. IMHO
