Maybe if we give Mike Bell #30 he will play a hell of a lot harder not wanting to disgrace the number.

even better with the NFL shops discount thing, you'd be able to pick one up for about $26's what with them charging it as a team leaver price.

Its hard to retire because at some point all the numbers would be gone and then players would begin to wear numbers like 107, 224, 130, 127 and so on. I would let em wear 30.

While I love T. Davis as much as the next Bronco fan I cannot think of a better player on the Broncos to wear #30.

Mike Bell grew up in Colorado and when he was not drafted he made it a point to come play for the team he grew up loving. Who better to wear such a number of his hero than a lifelong Bronco fan who grew up idolizing TD and wore 30 mainly because of him?

I dont know of any better example of passing the flame.

I was pretty sure it would come down to Henry paying Bell for the number. That's the way it works.

Of course he should take it! The offer of 10 grand is worth more than his first signing bonus!

Most players are pretty accomodating when a new player wants a number that is allready taken. I think M.Bell might give the #20 to Henry and choose another one. I don't think anybody should wear #30. That number should have been retired by now and I would feel weird if I saw anybody else wear that number.

Mike Bell's response to Travis Henry's need to wear jersey No. 20 with the Broncos?

"He can have it," Bell said Monday. "I don't have an emotional attachment to that number. I know he does....I'll talk to him and we'll work it out. He can have it. It'll be his."

Henry, who signed with the Broncos last week to be their primary running back, said he would pay Bell, who wore No. 20 as a rookie last season, $10,000 to give up the jersey.

Henry has worn the number throughout his career. Monday, he had a medallion around his neck that featured the number.

Bell's biggest issue is not financial reimbursement.

"I just want to get a good number," said Bell, who said he may ask to wear No. 30, which his hero, Terrell Davis, wore while Davis starred for the Broncos. "That's all I care about is getting a good number."

you know he may not be the number 1 back on our roster but I sure do love Mike Bell, he just seems to typify the kind of player I want us to have
