Branch has stress fractures in leg?

According to Dan Pompei on Cold Pizza this morning, Michigan DT Alan Branch's draft stock is slipping because he has stress fractures in his leg and teams are taking him off their boards completely because they are unsure if he can hold up through a whole season.

Fall like a rock, right to Denver Alan!

Oh wow.. my mind is lost today.. at first I thought- "Our new TE?!?!".. then corrected myself to- "No, that's DANIEL GRAHAM!! Not at all Branch.. Deion then? How does that effect us??"... now I see what you mean. If I were a team interested Id still take a shot at him. With todays medicine there is a lot that can be done.

            Pass!

I Paul Toviesi per decade is enough!

There's certainly no need to spend a #1 pick on a player who has an injury history that makes him problematic. Even the 2nd round pick is risky unless you're sure he'll recover completely. There were concerns enough about him before this, now I wouldn't take him at all.

I was wondering why nobody mentioned him as a possible 1st round pick for Denver. Now I know why.

If it looks like he might fall to the second round, you take Moss in the first and move up in the second to take Branch.

I'd still consider him on the first day.

This is kind of like when food goes bad --> nobody else touches it and that means if you're interested, its all yours............

Seriously, stress fractures are one of the toughest and most annoying minor injuries to treat. They often don't heal well and can come back to cause chronic problems. If he's falling down the boards, there's a reason for it. Don't think we're smarter than everyone else cuz' usually its not true.....

Toviessi had knee problem if not mistaken. Athletes come back from stress fractures all the time. So while would have reservation I don't know I would be quite as concerned with it. That being said, the all the scouting reports I have read would make more uncomfortable with taking Branch.
