December 19, 1966 - On December 19, 1966, Lou Saban signed a 10-year contract as General Manager and Head Coach of the Denver Broncos.

December 14, 1968 - Bears Stadium is officially re-named Denver Mile High Stadium.

December 14, 1975 - The Franchise retires - Floyd Little is carried off the field after he concludes his career as the seventh-leading all-time rusher in the NFL with 6,323 career rushing yards.

December 4, 1977 - With a 24-14 win at Houston, the Broncos clinch a playoff berth, the first in the club’s history. Later in the day, the Broncos clinch the AFC Western Division championship when the Raiders fall to the Los Angeles Rams.

December 11, 1983 - Elway throws three fourth-quarter touchdown passes to erase a 19-0 deficit and lead the Broncos to a 21-19 playoff-clinching win over Baltimore.

December 15, 1984 - In a winner-take-all showdown at the Kingdome for the AFC West crown, Denver wins its 13th game of the season, the most in Broncos history, and captures the AFC West crown with a 31-14 win over Seattle.

December 26, 1996 - Terrell Davis is named NFL Offensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press and joins three other Broncos as first-team All-Pro performers — Shannon Sharpe, Alfred Williams and Gary Zimmerman.

December 3, 2000 - Mike Anderson rushes for 251 yards in a 38-23 win at New Orleans to set an all-time NFL rookie rushing record for a single game.

December 29, 2002 - Running back Clinton Portis closes his rookie season with a 228-yard rushing effort in a win vs. Arizona at INVESCO Field at Mile High to finish the season with a franchise rookie-record 1,508 rushing yards, the fifth-best rushing season by a rookie in NFL history.

December 11, 2005 - Mike Shanahan becomes the Broncos’ all-time leader in career victories, collecting his 118th career win with Denver’s 12-10 win against Baltimore at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Champ Bailey records an interception for the fifth consecutive game, setting a franchise record.

December 24, 2006 - Cutler becomes the first rookie in NFL history to throw multiple touchdown passes in each of his first four games.

December 12, 2014 - Chris Harris Jr. agrees to terms on a five-year contract extension. Harris had overcome being undrafted and tearing an ACL in the 2013 postseason to become one of the game’s best cornerbacks. He goes to his first Pro Bowl one month later.

December 14, 2014 - Denver earns a 22-10 victory against San Diego to earn its fourth consecutive AFC West Division title. The game marks the Broncos’ 12th straight divisional road win to tie for the longest such streak in league history.

Question: In the 2008 season, what was it that The Broncos did that was never done before in NFL history? (I'll accept more than one answer, but answers must be substantiated.)

With a loss to the Chargers, the Broncos' season ended at 8–8. In the process, they became the first team in NFL history to enter the final three weeks of a regular season with a three-game lead and lose all three games.

In 2008, after 13 games, the team was sitting in first place in the AFC West, with an 8–5 record, three games ahead of the Chargers, who were 5–8. However, after two losses and two wins by The Chargers the stage was set for the 2008 season finale. The Broncos were blown out 52–21 by the Chargers, and would become the first team in NFL history to enter the final quarter of a regular season with a three-game lead and squander the division lead. (this one still hurts!!!)

The movie Bingo (1991) may have been about a boy and his dog, but it had a Denver Broncos storyline, too.

In the movie, a boy named Chuckie saves Bingo the dog and has to hide Bingo because his parents won't let him have a dog. When his father, a barefoot goal kicker for the Denver Broncos, is abruptly traded to the Green Bay Packers, Bingo must be left behind.

The Drive was featured in the movie Hot Tub Time Machine, but due to the butterfly effect, Jackson was distracted by a squirrel and failed to catch the pass and Cleveland went on to win. It was inaccurately portrayed as being in 1986 (the game was played on January 11, 1987, though it was at the end of the 1986 NFL season). The movie implied that it was played at night; however, when Karlis kicked the winning field goal in OT, it was still daytime in Cleveland. Oh well....
