We havent had anyone to get independance off. We used to own half the world

Is it a national holiday in the US? Do you all get the day off work and school?

I guess the nearest we have is St. George's day, but we still have to work and stuff , everyone thinks it should be a holiday but the government wont give it

Well, I was joking (sort of), but earlier I thanked one of my friends from the UK for their wish to have a Happy 4th of July with an additional reply of "Couldn't have done it without you." There's some truth to that - but I meant it with great affection of course, because I love the British to pieces.

I had to look it up.

Count on me not to give it up AZ!

Do they have a day of independence from some country, I don't recall. But I do believe England and the world uses the same calender days as the US, but the times are different.

And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. I have a funny story about that.....

My uncle lives in England, and he owns an old-folks home down there, and he was actually cited for disturbing the peace today, setting off fireworks and having a party, well the pictures were posted in the local newspaper there. All the old people wearing American Flag shirts and hats, waving flags, while my uncle is drinking a beer, with a cowboy hat on, with his son behind him, also wearing a cowboy hat.

You would have to understand my uncle, he is English, but lived in America for the most of his life. I just think it is quite humorous. He had fireworks off and everything!
