Difference between Julius Peppers and Dwight Freeney? Jarvis Moss

Mike Evan said from 950 the fan says that Jarvis Moss is not Julius Peppers but he is Dwight Freeney, theres a difference.
Now I know both guy are really good but what the heck is the difference?
Would it be like comparing Bert Berry and Trevor Pryce, both of whom were really but one is a speed pass rusher while the other is a power guy.

If you ask me, I think Jarvis is the second coming of Trevor Prce, just at the kids size and all.

jarvis moss will not be trevor pryce. trevor had great burst and power and would push his way between double teams and go straight at the qb. he will play a speed edge rushing style where he uses his burst and leverage to get to the qb.

trevor's style of play doesn't really fit jarvis' size or skillset.

peppers can do it all, and freeney is a speed guy with a never ending motor.

Remember when pepper returned a INT 101 yards i think against us and Rod Smith chased him down at the 1 i think and got him before he scored a td. Thats what i call Heart.

I agree, and I think he will attain the level of play, Ive seen the kid upfront and he looks alot more like Julius Peppers and Trevor Pryce than he does like Bert Berry or Dwight Freeney.
Seeing guys play of TV is one thing and you cant make assements until you see them live in person.
Im saying it now, he will be Trevor Pryce!

Dwight Freeney does one thing, but does it very well: he'll beat the LT to the outside and get to the QB. He isn't a force that can eat up blockers, stay strong against the run (although he does have the speed to pursue players in the backfield when he choses), or bull rush the tackle or guard.

Julius Peppers is a freak. You could ask him to do just about anything along the line, and (IMO) any of the LB positions, and he'd succeed. He'll stop the run, rush the passer, get his hands up to block passes, intercept a few, etc etc.

Jarvis Moss is much more Freeney than Peppers. But all Denver needs from him is pressure on the QB (the defense will be set up to compensate for the inevitable holes that a speed rusher can leave.) If he can do that, he'll be well worth the pick.

freeney is a better pass rusher than peppers and he goes against left tackles which are traditionally better than the right tackles that peppers feasts on give me freeney anyday

i agree csu_stat. moss just doesn't play with strength. he uses speed and his big frame to get around blockers, pryce drove straight into them most of the time. it's possible, but at this point strength is probably the biggest knock on moss as a player so i don't see how a comparison can be reached for.

peppers is indeed a freak. i think that despite his praise, he is still underrated. no one in the league i'd rather have at the positon than him. he gave chuck norris his autograph.

    ha ha

now thats how you know your good, when old chuck wants your autograph..lol i love it

i think moss will get his strength back, give him a year and he should be a beast.

when i was playing competative hockey, i was ripped! now almost 3 yrs removed i would be considered just a skinney little white boy.

but i plan to get back into it in about4 weeks, and i know with the routine i will be doing; that in 6-9 weeks i should be pretty big

so him being large and football being his job, i think the man will be huge this year and beastly next year. jmo

    There are differences.

IMO Freeney is a pass rush specialist while peppers is the better all around athlete. There are no limitations with Peppers who can almost do it all while as great as Freeney is at getting to the qb if you run right at him he's a liabilty.

Yet denver's need was someone who can get to the qb quickly, a Freeney type and if that's what Moss is then our prayers have been answered. Denver needs to put enough pressure on the qb to let our very talented cornerbacks do thier thing
A speed rusher is what we needed and a speed rusher is what we got.

See I think we have some one like Freeney on our team but it isnt Moss. Elvis Dumerville has many of the qualities that Freeney has. The way I see is is...Dumerville=Freeney & Moss=Kearse!

He's a little bit smaller and tends to get blocked easier but yes he does get to the qb but I would like to see another pass rusher and have him blocked one on one more often .

Freeney is the speed rusher off the edge, and that's why Moss is being compared more to him.

Peppers is the do it all DE that excels at the rush.

I think that's the difference and the comparison they are talking about.

With Crowder/Ekuban on the other side as the more well rounded player, Moss will fit in perfectly with the scheme, and has the potential to develop inito that impact player along the dline.

Julias peppers is a LDE and also is more of a power guy then a freeny guy who has great technique and is quick to the corner. thats how i see it.

Actually there is another knock on Moss. and its his technique, and ability to shed mammoth tackles.
