I loved Larry Walker but I don't view him as that important to have his number retired. If anyone it would be Helton for this franchise to date and that may still happen at some point.

They retired Heltons number last year against the Reds. Tulo or Arenado are the next possible choices if they finish with Colorado.

At one point I would've put Cargo up there. But he has been aweful at the plate the past few years. And can't stay healthy.

I may be crazy on this but wouldn't we put Vinny Castilla in a prestige spot before Larry Walker? He may have been a little smaller in terms of stats but didn't he play longer for the Rockies?

I did not say retired I said no longer issued. There is a galaxy of difference between the two. During his time at Blake street he was;

There is not a galaxy of difference between the two at all. No longer issued might as well be retired. It may not be hung up in a plaque on just no longer issued. But why discontinue issuing it and not retiring it? Seems like a waste to me.

Also not arguing he was a stellar Rockie. But obviously the organization doesn't agree it's worth eliminating his number from options.

To me if you aren't in the hall you shouldn't have your number retired. That stuff is reserved for legends.
