My favorite Super Bowl loss was to Seattle, because it provided the impetus for coming back and winning the thing, and we got to destroy the clearly inferior Patriots organization leading up to it.

That is one of my favorites but imagine if the doncos had the testicle fortitude like a team we know and came back from that large deficit and won the Superbowl instead of turtling.

Then the next year a team with testicle fortitude played that same Seahawk team in the Superbowl and was down 10 going into the 4th quarter and came back and won.

I'm not sure how a franchise can have two superbowl appearances and one win in the last 5 years and be "mediocre" but sure... if you want to grasp for smack straws, I guess it can mean that if you really, really want it to.

AFCW has been a week division up until last year. and when things got tough with KC and Oak emerging, Denver couldn't cut it. AFC east is weak too, but we're usually in the AFC title game so it doesn't matter. Of those five times Denver made the playoffs, they were one and done twice.
